Captain Lazer is the alter-ego of pilot George Leloup, who by profession was a scuba diving instructor and scuba charter boat operator. Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, he now resides in the southern US. George learned to fly fixed wing aircraft at age 16. Over the years his love for flying has driven him to push his skills to the limit, as is reflected in his effortless handling of his helicopter - both at airshows and for personal pleasure. The eldest in a family of six, George discovered early in life that the only way to obtain the things he really wanted was to go to work - and work hard. Starting in his teens as a heavy equipment operator and moving through a 10 year stretch as a professional firefighter, George founded Adrenalin Sports. Through hard work, dedication and a commitment to provide the best in diving instruction, Adrenalin Sports grew to become the largest and most respected dive store in Canada. Selling his interest in the store in the spring of '96 has enabled George to dedicate more time to experiment with the thrills of being an airshow pilot and becoming more involved in all aspects of aviation.

Always fascinated by helicopters, George bought a Hughes 269 as a basket-case at an auction in Edmonton in 1984. After several quick fixes and improvisations to make the ship ferryable, the 12 hour flight home to Vancouver proved to be the ultimate learning experience. Happily smitten by the helicopter's charms, George explored the many entertainment prospects of a helicopter act on the airshow circuit before developing the combined pyrotechnics and aerobatics act that now form the spectacular "Captain Lazer" show. A healthy respect for the dangers involved, combined with George's driving desire to provide breath-taking airshow entertainment makes "Captain Lazer and the Battle for Zenda" your highlight act.
